Associate Director of Procurement, Outsourced Operational Purchasing

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $170-200K plus bonus.

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Procurement that would focus on all aspects of business process outsourcing (BPO) of the operational procurement activities on an enterprise global level for the firm. Role would directly report to the Chief Procurement Officer of the organization and would own partnership strategy connected to Operational Procurement outsourcing.

As this is a new process and role added to the Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing leadership team, the successful candidate will have flexibility to shape the role. The Associate Director of Procurement will be responsible for development of implementation, standardization of policy and procedures for tactical procurement, purchase order process, supplier management, dashboards, reporting, data management, technology, governance, compliance, goals, and targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in a procurement or strategic sourcing role.

  • Direct experience working in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or related industry.

  • Direct experience working in Procurement/ Category Management/ Strategic Sourcing for business process outsourcing, within pharmaceutical or related industry.

  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology, operational procurement, and related processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage operational performance metrics, budgets, and resources to achieve business objectives.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and sourcing/procurement related software (i.e. Ariba)

  • Proven ability to drive change, foster innovation, and adapt to evolving market dynamics in the pharmaceutical / life sciences environment.
